This is an interview with Wincho Schaffer, frontman and songwriter for the new band ATKINSON. Formed only a couple of years ago, the band has a new album titled "Colonia Para el Alma" (Perfume for the Soul) which is racing up the charts in the local radio stations and people are flocking in large numbers to their shows. In this interview, Wincho talks about how the band started, how he hooked up with two mythical musicians of the Venezuelan underground movement such as Erik Aldrey (Le Pico, Chulius & The Filarmonicos) and Rafael Cadavieco (Zapato 3), and where he got the inspiration for some of his favorite songs. Great interview. Difficult sound since it was done over the phone.

Esta es una entrevista al lider y cantante de la nueva banda venezolana ATKINSON, Erwin "Wincho" Shaffer (ex-Sentimiento Muerto, ex-PAN). Aqui nos habla de los comienzos de la idea de formar una banda de rock con sus propias canciones, la busqueda de musicos que compartieran su dimension sonica, como encontro a dos de los mas reconocidos musicos de la movida underground del rock en Venezuela: Erik Aldrey y Rafael Cadavieco y la inspiracion que tuvo para escribir algunos de los exitos de su primer larga duracion: "Colonia para el Alma." Una cosa mas, el disco solamente se consigue en Venezuela, en las tiendas de discos Esperanto. Tambien le pueden escribir a los chicos por mySpace para ver como pueden comprar el disco digital o fisicamente. Pero lo mas depinga seria si contactaran a su sello disquero local y les dijeran que quieren conseguir este disco en su pais y que los firmen. Asi se avanza la musica por todo el mundo.
