La Vida Boheme
Every week the staff goes out to find the best new alternative music in the world, hoping to find sounds full of life and energy. Not only did we find that sound in this band but we found a band from South America that has produced a masterpiece.
La Vida Boheme is four guys from the polyglot and multi-cultural city of Caracas, Venezuela who have
been playing together for the last four years and just now are getting ready to release their debut album titled "Nuestra" (Ours) but who, at this point do not have the backing of a record label or a distribution channel either in their own country or in the US or UK.
By far, the best songs we've heard this year coming from South America, reminiscent at times to a polished and fun Franz Ferdinand, this quartet of 20-year olds are sufficiently talented to take on the world.
Henry D'Arthenay (guitar/vocals), Daniel De Sousa (guitar/vocals), Rafael Perez (bass/vocals) and Sebastian Ayala (drums/vocals) are the names of this incredible band and without a doubt, a revelation to our ears.
Their first single is titled "Radio Capital" and it is currently playing in the Venezuelan radio stations. YRock on xpn just added one of the tracks in this new album, titled "Danz!" which made it's transition from their first self-titled EP released in 2004. Since then, they've made a number of mix tapes and this new album has been mentioned in many of the best internet blogs around.
Todas las semanas, la gente salimos en busca de nuevos sonidos, nuevas canciones y bandas que nos haran vivir la musica a lo maximo. Es en verdad, un placer escuchar algo por primera vez que no solamente es de gran calidad, si no que te hace parar los pelos de punta y te hacen llorar de la alegria. Esto es lo que nos paso cuando escuchamos esta banda de Caracas, Venezuela por primera vez. Con un sonido contundente muy influenciado por bandas de Inglaterra como Franz Ferdinand, estos jovenes han trabajado y producido una verdadera joya musical. El disco nuevo sale el 10 de Febrero por Internet (ver detalles abajo) y promete ser una revelacion para el mundo entero del tipo de musica que se esta creando en lugares tan remotos como Venezuela.

La estacion YRock on XPN 88.5 HD2 ha introducido la cancion "Danz!" de un previo homonimo EP que salio en el 2004 y que ahora aparece en este nuevo larga duracion.
Sin duda alguna una banda que se las trae con su talento y con la frescura de sus composiciones, LVB promete ser la banda mas popular de el mercado Anglosajon solamente si los oidos norteamericanos e ingleses despiertan de su larga indiferencia. It is a shame that the record inductry does not take interest in these amazing bands that are flowering in South America. The US/UK labels are missing out on a great opportunity to reach, not only the Spanish-speaking population but also their alternative rock listening audiences.

Es una lastima que la industria de la musica no se interese por bandas tan excelentes y prometedoras como estos chicos de Sur America. La musica en estos paises esta floreciendo y la calidad ha subido muchisimo. Solamente sellos independientes espanoles y un sello como Nacional existen para darle vida a esta musica. Se necesitan mas distribuidores y mas sellos internacionales para sacar a relucir esta increible musica antes de que desaparezca. Somo muchos los que queremos escuchar esto en la radio y en el Internet y conseguir sus discos y atender sus conciertos. Esperamos que pronto la industria musical se globalize y deje a estos musicos tocar en todas partes sin tapujos.
